- Stack your firewood as soon as possible.
- Avoid stacking wood contact with the ground.
- Cover the top of the stack, leaving sides open for circulation.
- Store a week’s supply of wood in a heated area in your home.
- Refill as needed and you’ll have burnable wood regardless of weather.
- Even with the best firewood, proper techniques are essential. Ignite a few pieces of kindling using crumpled newspaper. When kindling is burning well, add several pieces of firewood. When a bed of embers has been created and is burning well, add full sized firewood.
